($12) (this checks in at just 11.5% alcohol): Bright violet. Highly perfumed bouquet of strawberry, redcurrant, rose and minerals. Lively and precise on the palate, offering tangy red berry flavors and firm mineral spine. An elegant and well-balanced wine that finishes with very good clarity and zesty persistence. And an outstanding value.

2009 Adegas Moure Abadia da Cova Barrica Ribeira Sacra
($24) Vivid ruby. Assertive aromas of cherry and dark berry preserves, with notes of dark chocolate and vanilla adding power. Weighty and full, with rich cherry-vanilla flavor and a supple texture. A very modern wine with impressive fruit intensity. The broad finish features clinging sweetness and a lingering mocha note.

2008 Adegas Moure Moure de Autor Ribeira Sacra
($40) (85% mencia and 15% tempranillo): Bright ruby-red. Spicy redcurrant, raspberry, licorice and minerals on the nose. Lively, precise and juicy in the mouth, with flavors of red fruits, spices and herbs. Picks up weight and sweetness with air while maintaining impressive vivacity. Finishes with silky tannins and excellent clarity, with the red fruit and mineral notes repeating.

2009 Adegas Moure Albarino Abadia da Cova Ribeira Sacra
($24) (100% mencia): Bright red. Floral and mineral nuances lift redcurrant, cranberry and rhubarb aromas. Spicy red and dark berry skin flavors are nicely supported by tangy acidity and fine-grained tannins. Finishes bright and crisp, with good clarity and length. This is pretty tight right now.
